Oyasumi: a cup or a lot of sake?

It’s good to be healthy again, because that means we can start learning Japanese again :)

Novel reading - 月下の恋人たち #2 - Lovers under the moonlight

I’m still on chapter two. Believe me, the chapters are incredibly long. I found a rare grammar here, the ばかり to indicate as if someone might do something!

In the scene, the protagonist was talking to another person through a window:

彼は窓を突き破らんばかりに顔を近づけ、わたしを睨みつけた。
He brought his face close as if going to break through the window, and stared at me.

There are only two new kanji on that chapter :)

Oyasumi: The letter ‘H’: ecchi? NHK: N ecchi K?

I was really busy with many stuffs today so basically didn’t do any Japanese studies except reviewing Mnemosyne and listening to a jpod101 episode.

The podcast was about an NHK guy collecting money house to house. The grammar point is -てくる (-te kuru), which is to do something and then return back. The example was:

ちょっと見てくる
chotto mite kuru
I’ll go see who’s outside (and after that, I’ll return)

Note that -てくる have other uses.

Anyway the grammar was not alien for me. What’s interesting is that Natsuko-sensei spelled H as エイチ (eichi). I always thought it was ecchi!
